How to Cook Our Fish

Carb Free Gefilte Fish Balls
Ingredients

• 1 small onion
• 1 cubed carrot
• 1 unpeeled cubed squash
• 1 clove garlic (optional)
Defrost overnight in refrigerator.

When soft, form into 10 to 12 balls. In a 3-quart pot, sauté a small onion in oil. Add a cubed carrot, an unpeeled cubed squash and one clove of garlic (optional). Fill the pot halfway with water. Add paprika for color, bring to a boil, add fish balls.

With pot covered, cook for one hour over a low flame.


Carb Free Gefilte Fish Roll
Ingredients

• 1 small onion
• 1 cubed carrot
• 1 clove garlic (optional)
• 1/4 cup Splenda
• 1/2 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp pepper
Do not defrost roll.

Using a medium to large pot, fill half to three-quarters with water, one small onion, one clove of garlic and a carrot. Add one-quarter cup Splenda, one-quarter teaspoon of pepper and one-half teaspoon of salt. Insert frozen fish roll.

With pot covered, cook for one-and-a-half hours over a medium flame. Add more water if necessary


Salmon Gefilte Fish Herb Crusted Cutlets
Ingredients

• 1/2 cup matzoh meal or ground nuts
• 1 egg
• 1 tbsp water
• 1 tsp ground paprika
• 1/2 tsp thyme, basil, tarragon, black pepper (suggested)
Do not defrost loaf.

Cut loaf into half-inch slices. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Prepare baking pan with vegetable spray or oil. Combine half-cup of Matzoh meal or ground nuts with 1 tsp. ground paprika plus a half tsp. of the following suggested seasonings: thyme, basil, tarragon, black pepper. Beat 1 egg adding 1 Tbsp of water. Dip frozen fish slices into egg and then into seasoned Matzoh meal or ground nuts.

Bake for 15 minutes in 400 degree preheated oven. Turn over and continue baking until golden brown. Or, preheat oil in a skillet and fry both sides.

Serve chilled with mayonnaise, tartar sauce or sprinkle with lemon juice.
